It's pretty much a joke. If you know what the Illuminati really is it makes sense when using it in this context.
I'm not completely sure if Mark used it in one of his videos. But I can assume that he probably did though.

The fedora Let's Play made me cringe, this one didn't make me cringe as much. Mark just needs a little practice, and he could be pretty proficient at it. He's already better at applying liquid foundation than I am. : P
