Appearance

Physical Appearance:
Now fully grown, it's plain to see her genetics favored her father in terms of her overall build. Her short, stocky frame maintains just enough lean streamlining to keep her appearing fit, but she'll never accomplish the regal look of a tall, sleek shorthair. Her head, triangular in shape, is graced with a strong chin and muzzle of medium length lined with pearly, needling fangs. Bright eyes drink in the world surrounding her, almond-shaped and hued in a rich Caribbean green along the outer iris, fading into an oceanic cerulean ringing the dark pupils. To date, they are Hecate's favorite physical attribute passed down by genetics.

Corded muscle developed neatly over heavy bones, yielding the graceful feline with a prowling, low-slung gait that is highly pronounced. Sturdy legs support this highly animated she-cat, almost always churning like a well-oiled machine from her abundant supply of vivacious energy spent on exploring her boundaries (and occasionally trying to press beyond them). Hecate's luxuriously long adult coat matches that of her sire, while still managing the silky texture of her mother's gleaming pelt. The vast majority of her coloration is velvety gunmetal gray, a few shades lighter than the abyssal obsidian of her mother and several notches darker than that of her father. Age has begun to soften the tone along her spine, yielding a lighter grey than that of the remainder, appearing as though as she grows older the silvering gene of her sire will spread along her saddle.

Accessories:
While her small collection of gemstones and minerals was lost when she left the Shadow-Tribe and her den space years ago, a new cache has begun.

- A pair of Stellar Jay primary wing feathers tied to her left foreleg with simple twine.
The feathers were found during what was to become the last day of her living in solitude, a gentle calling of the whispering shadows that pushed her to return to the Tribes and seek reinstatement as a Guard by the Silver-Shadow. She retains the keepsake as a reminder of what brought her back to the Tribes.

Personality

Importuning: If one thing can be said for this young she-cat, it's that she has a penchant for knowing exactly what she wants. And oftentimes, she wants it five minutes ago. Hecate has no qualms with asking for her desired treasures, be they tangible in nature or simply valuable in terms of information. Unfortunately, if her perceived needs are not met to satisfaction or are refused, she can become persistent with her implored wishes or even demanding of them. Harping is not beneath her, and she will resort to irritating heckling if she believes it will procure the intended results she seeks. This is oftentimes a last resort, as her preference of attracting the metaphorical flies with honey as opposed to vinegar has been prove more effective route more times than not.

Loquacious: From the moment she was able to formulate and begin threading together words, Hecate has been an incredibly loquacious individual. She could talk the ears off of a fox if they were docile enough to sit complacently by while she babbled on. Engaging with strangers for her is as effortless as a Primary Water-Triber walking on water. It doesn't matter to this she-cat one bit if she's known you for five minutes or five moons, she'll merrily natter on if allowed to let her verbose vocabulary and whimsical ruminations get away from her. Gossip is the wine of her small world, any decadent secret or snippet she can swindle is sure to be parroted off to everyone she encounters afterwards, despite whether or not there's truth to the rabble she's spreading.

Ostentatious: The one thing she likely prizes over a secret to subtly spread through a web of acquaintances is accruing physical trinkets. She's almost draconic in her hoarding habits, having a keen eye for precious metals, gleaming gemstones, and artful accessories. Hecate can certainly seem like a prissy little princess with her overall attitude alongside her coveting of crafted goods to adorn herself with. Much like a magpie, if another were to offer her a shiny object to keep without a cost attached, they'd easily sway her opinion of them into a favorable and preferential light. It has been a longstanding mission of Hecate's to acquire a myriad of embellishing ornaments to wear and change on a routine basis. Grandiose jewelry serves to compliment her extravagant personality elements.

Sprightly: Hecate is an incredibly animated creature, constantly in motion in one way or another. Her excessive chatter is punctuated by theatrical gestures, while listening is disrupted by fidgety paws and a incessantly twitching tail. It seems as if her energy knows no bounds, constantly evoked by her vivaciously wayward persona to push beyond the realm of fatigue into a state of overdrive until the time for burnout comes. Because of this constant verve, when Hecate does finally settle down for sleep she crashes out harder than a mountain of rocks. Waking her during sleep is the equivalent of attempting to rouse the dead from their graves; unlikely to be successful, and certain to earn a disgruntled, incomprehensible response if accomplished. The term 'nap' does not seem to exist in her vocabulary. Suggesting one to her would probably be laughable.

Overconfident: With confidence levels that verge on the side of arrogance, Hecate isn't to be mistaken for a cat with insecurities. She may be growing up on the smaller side of the spectrum, but she doesn't let that impede her perseverance. Being born to the Silver-Light and Yellow-Water has given the youth the impression that, with such prestigious lineage of veteran officers as her predecessors, she can do anything she puts her mind to. Even if those ideas are particularly outlandish for her inexperienced little self to feasibly attempt, attempt them she shall with unmatched vitriol and vigor burning in her veins as she presses ever onward in her goals. Hecate's rather enchanting charisma is almost contagious in its potency, to the point where she'll attempt to infuse a bit of backbone in even the meekest of cats.

Wanderlust: Never having been shy about pursuing her own curiosity, a strong sense of wanderlust has developed for Hecate as she aged into adulthood. While her trials outside of Tribe life have curbed a great deal of the impulsiveness in following the urge to explore or elope, it still lingers in her bones. It isn't unheard of for her to roam far outside the familiar territories and seek new, interesting locations to revisit. While she resents the walls that bar her path to the south and west, but she makes due with where she can freely roam.

History

Before the Beginning [Prologue]

What had started seemingly so long ago in the meadows where Lully had confessed the five simple words "I think I like you," to the Bombay Silver-Light had slowly grown like a carefully kindled flame. Despite the waves of tragedy crashing against each Tribe, Basil and Lully managed to make the most of time spent with one another during the calm respites of the caiman onslaught that plagued the newly claimed territories. It was after an assault by the armored marsh-dwellers that the Green-Water was reunited by the sight of the Silver-Light, alive and whole, who then requested his presence alone. It was then she told him her first amazing discover; she was pregnant. The parents-to-be soon found themselves mother and father of four fuzzy kittens within the leader's den.

With the caiman threat drawing to an end and the Ceremony of Light granting the first litter their tattoos, Basil and Lully watched them take up new ranks as apprentices within their assigned tribes. It would only be a matter of slowly elapsing time before the mated pair would seek the comforts of doting parenthood again...

Into the Light [Kittenhood]

Born in early Winter to a litter of two sisters and one brother, May was unwittingly awarded the jackpot of all parents. From Basil, the Silver-Light, who kept a vigilant eye on the growing quartet, to Lully, the Silver-Water, who oft visited the kits and his mate in her home den, the family was a solace from the trying times ahead. May and her sister Lily spent their early days attempting to catch an early glimpse of the world beyond their nesting den. It took weeks of trial, error and being resettled into the warmth of the nest by a wryly chuckling mother before the pair managed to elude her notice during an afternoon nap and see the world beyond that awaited them once they were old enough to better navigate its wonder.

The four kittens grew close, although May often sought out Lily as her favorite sibling to spend time with. Parsley was good for chattering with, and so it was when the family made their way to the Gathering once the litter had reached six moons old that May found herself trying to stay entertained with her dark brother with silly games while the numerous tribes gathered and settled for the night's announcements to begin. Soon the pairs mottling of bickering and enthusiastic spot-the-Silvers game was interrupted as the events were set to get underway. Soon the second era of the mated Silvers of Light and Water would earn their own tattoos, and none could convince May that hers would not envelope the natural star patterned atop her forehead and place her alongside her mother in Light-Tribe.

Claimed by Shadows [Apprenticeship]

It was not to be. Stricken with confused dismay, May watched as her pitch pelted mother was possessed by the spirit of light and move past her small form without gracing her with a diamond of Light-Tribe.

Instead a pale form took her stead before the young kitten. A solid alabaster shorthair, the Silver-Shadow. It was him that bent towards her and, with a press of his nose, caused the fanged grin to curl its frigid way over her muzzle. The one word he uttered rang hollowly in her ears. Hecate.

It was only the shocking turn of events that broke the child from her stupor. Fury replaced cold disassociation at the strange cats that abruptly kidnapped some of the newly tattooed kits, one of which was her own sister, Caydin. The group of outliers all bore the same gilded butterfly tattoo, and sought to trade the young for the powerful, a leader of each tribe would be paid as a hostage tribute to replace the kittens in their clutches. Horror and despair were the only emotions left as Hecate watched her father take the place of a kitten as Water-Tribe's hostage. The final blow was dealt as her own older brother Icarus followed the strange cats away.

It was Cenek, the Silver-Shadow himself, that was put in a position of having to take on Hecate's training himself. He was met with opposition and frantic railing against the current events by the young Pink-Shadow. She hated her name, rejected the Spirits choice to place her within Shadow-Tribe, and above all else wanted nothing more but to help rescue her father. It was Cenek's calm, calculated words that disarmed her with meticulous care. Soon she realized that she could not do anything for those she cared about on her own, and only with her newly appointed mentor's accelerated training would she have any hope of helping. Hecate threw herself into guard's training, matching the Silver-Shadows urgent severity with her own endless zeal. Mischief amidst the tribe's territory kept her sane, but her soul was enveloped in learning and honing her skills, both magical and physical.

Familial Familiarity

The tenuous trust that had begun to build between apprentice and leader was swiftly shattered in the breathe of one single decision; the Silver-Shadow choose to forsake the Spirits and follow the warped kitten that was claimed to be Alriyel born anew. To band alongside those that sought to capture her father to whatever end. It was too much for the young she-kit, so she ran. Abandoning her tribe, she sought the haven of her youth, and found herself breathlessly trembling in the central territory of Light-Tribe with eyes only for her mother. Refuge was granted to many in Light-Tribe's territory for the Shadow and Air cats that could not accept their leaders' decision. Hecate once more became May, comforted by mother and siblings that resided within the tribe or visited with news.

The death of the Spirits was a heavy blow to many, but May felt a sliver of hope as the powers faded from all cats. She was well and truly free. Free of Shadow-Tribe, freed from the snarling fangs that had caged her jaws in a ferocious visage, left to her family and friends, with no ties beyond them. She had happily settled into her new role, content to remain young and naive now that her family had been reunited with her father's release from captivity. It wasn't perfect, but it was close.

Delve Into Darkness [Adolescence]

All good things must come to an end, however. The return of the Spirits' rebirth hit like a cold stone sinking into the adolescent's stomach. It meant the ending of an era, the closing of her time spent with family without outside obligations to summon her away. Like a good soldier, she fell back in line and received the new Spirit of Shadow's mark. No fangs sprang across her muzzle this time, but sleek, artfully applied liner graced her upper eyes and coiled back from the corners like drifting smoke. Depressed by the sudden turn of events, the downtrodden adolescent returned to heel under her leaders, despite the rift of distrust and apprehension that now burdened her view of Cenek. Her body may have returned to finish her training, but her mind never fully left the Light-Tribe.

Moons past with the ghost of herself going through the tribal motions. She answered questions when asked and ran patrol when commanded, but otherwise was a husk of her former fiery self. Time was already eroding what little ties she felt obliged to maintain with the tribe, until the numbness became too much for the young she-cat to bear. At right around a year old, she fled. The tendrils of power crept from her bones, receding into nothingness as she became forsaken from the bonds of Shadow-Tribe and rendered her tattoo into obsidian. She did not seek the comforts of family this time, however, and let her own detached wanderlust fill her and lead where it willed. Hecate managed to avoid contact with others lithely, the skills entrusted to her by Cenek's training coming in handy as she fell completely off the Nandryx map.

And so she remained, veiled in secrecy and solitude, for several years to come.

Resurfacing [Adulthood]

Moons continued to pass with hardly an acknowledged flick of the bicolor cat's tail. Restlessness had grown within her like an insatiable itch, unaware of the corresponding plague that had befallen the tribe cats in such brutal force. It stirred within the corners her psyche in a persistent, soft tugging. The family she left behind that she loved dearly, her siblings that she hadn't seen in years, and even the old, frayed relationships within Shadow-Tribe called for her return home. It had been long enough, perhaps. Wounds of her early development had finally seemed to scar over with regards to her perception of Cenek and the tribe he led. Hecate at long last felt she could offer an olive branch to the old leader if he would take her back into his ranks. She could muster the strength to give the Shadow-Tribe an honest chance if he could forgive her evasion of facing the world's trials.

Late Autumn was in full swing, nearing the mark of her fourth season cycle within the world, when her hunting happened upon a Stellar Jay perched high in a tree, preening out a pair of molting primary feathers which fluttered to the ground. The dark, banded hues gleamed with soft iridescence in the filtered canopy light, and seemed to speak to both shadow and bubbling springs in hues. It was enough of a sign for her subconscious to finally surface, and a decision was made. Hecate collected the pair of feathers carefully, and set off to appeal her case to the Silver-Shadow, whoever it might be now, in hopes to start life anew.

RP Example

[May | Kitten | Light-Tribe]

Slumber had long seized the young kitten’s bodily controls, maneuvering her from overdrive into a stalled state of neutrality hours before. The weight of her eyelids had finally bested her valiant efforts of attempting to keep them open in order to survey the hollow’s surroundings. It had been a lengthy wait for May, crawling hour by hour in her early days until at last days had turned to weeks, and weeks to over a month, and at last her kitten-blue eyes peaked open to catch their first glimpses of the dimly illuminated world. It was from that point that her blurred vision began to focus and hone in on the details of her den, sparking the ignition of her curiosity and unquenchable thirst to discover more.

It wasn't a unique trait to her either, it seemed. Her sisters too shared her vigor for new vantage points, keeping their mother on constant vigil of herding her wayward kits back from whence they wiggled. Every passing day seemed to embolden the youths, strengthening mind and muscle to inch a little further, to wobbly walk in a laughable imitation of their parents’ graceful strides. One day, one day they would make it to the exit before the Silver-Light could corral their concerted efforts. Perhaps today was that day.

A minuscule sneeze shook May awake, eyes flaring open in startled surprise at the unprecedented experience. Her eyes darted around, seeking the source of the disturbance until at last she squinted cross-eyed down her own muzzle, glowering warily at her own dark nose. A gentle plop interrupted her surly stare, inquisitive excitement replacing the look of disgust instantly as her vision swept to find her pale sibling, sprawled against the soft flooring in what had been clearly an attempt to gambol towards the exit while their mother’s nap enveloped her normally alert senses.

"Psst, hey! Wait up, Lily, I wanna come too!" May eagerly mewed as softly as she could, animated limbs coming to life as sprightly sinew gave erratic motion to the half-wiggling, half-stumbling fluff ball of a sister.

Katzen and Hecate might either get along or be similar and cause friction depending on how their interactions went, but I've nothing in mind outside of plots with others on her rejoining and returning to the tribes. Meeting a bone crafter would certainly be a point of intrigue for my ostentatious lady who loves her embellishments of any variety.

I was thinking Gabriel, he is a very mellow tom and since there is a whole thing with exiles going on, the roleplay can go one of two ways. lol

Maybe they meet while Gabriel is exploring the tribe territories and she attacks him? Or approaches him? It's up to you haha. Do you have a skype or do you want to roleplay via notes?

AttiFluff In reply to Foxkino [2016-12-17 04:29:46 +0000 UTC]

Sure thing! She's not one to attack unquestioningly, and if we wanted, the RP could be done before she's gone to Shadow-Tribe to appeal her reentry, thus unaware of the Enlightened uprising.

I have skype - feel free to add me, hanesakkaku is what it should be under!
