oh thank you it was just a test because with a 50mm-lens it is hard to make a self-portrait

i had others as well - but then i sold my camera (inclusive lenses; because they didn't fit...)

i made all my portraits with the 50mm lens. and i bought a cheap canon ef 35-80mm. :> (but i hate it, every shot is just crappy and blurry...)

aw darn, maybe the lens is broken or the lighting isn't good But try to wipe it off and give it a few more tries if it still doesn't work then. . . get a new one? I'm not sure what to say xD all of my lenses work well for me

it's the lighting-thing. F/4.0 or sth like this. (it is just for snapshots...)

I use Nikkor lenses such as the standard 18-55 wide lense and the 50 - 130 (I believe it's 130) lense. to shoot faster photos put your camera in "shutter priority" and make it a smaller fraction of a second shot (i.e 1/2000)
