YAYYYYY I finished it. Maybe I can squeeze another pic in this weekend or something.Tis Raindance, Maximized.
Alt is based heavily off a McFarlane dragon, but with a bit of artistic liberties from moi.
I also tried to make those turquoise spots glow, but I'm not sure if that worked or not. e_e; I suck at glowy things...
With that said, Imma off to bed.

Great picture, to me you did a fantastic job on this piece. Like you, I'd say glowing objects are a major challenge for me as well. I had to do a lot of experimentation and a lot of the times it didn't work for me. But that was before I learned how to used the layers properly in my paint program. And here's what I did; first, desginate a single layer for glowing effects, and be sure that this layer is on top of all the other layers, such as lineart, flat colors shades and highlights. After that, use the eye dropper tool to pick up the color of the bright highlight, and if it needs to be lightened, just slide your lightness bar until that gets to the brightness you need for the glow effect. After this is done, use your airbrush tool and be sure that you bring down the opacity of the paint to about three or four. This will give the impression that there's a glow on the image. If you want to intensify the glow on the image, you simply apply the paint gradually until you get as much as you need for the desired effect. I hope this helps.

Woooo! I really like the fuzziness ant the colors! Maybe to make the bioluminescence stand out, you could make the edges of each spot darker and fade it so the center is the lightest part....

Omigosh, Raindance came out so cool as a Maximal! I love her colors a lot, and how she's all furry and such. And I can see somewhat of a glow like you were aiming for. I love it!!
