Description "That night the city of Amarganth staged the finest celebration in all its history. All who had legs, long or short, straight or crooked, danced, and all who had voices, sweet or sour, high or low, sang and laughed.
When night fell, the Amarganthians lit thousands of colored lamps on their silver ships and palaces. And at midnight there were fireworks such as had never been seen in Fantastica."

Michael Ende: The Neverending Story, chapter XVI: The Silver City of Amarganth

Fourth in a series of experimental "illustrations" done for school. Watercolour & Pastel

While the firework is a bit subdued and doesn't shine all that brightly, I really, really love Atreyu's face. His expression is amazing and that one strand of hair is just beautiful.

It is a bit subdued, yes... I think I probably over-did the blue to be honest. The blue colour also leaked into his face so I panicked and tried to wipe it away with paper, and lost the lines I drew with a pencil in the process. But glad you still like it though. Really glad you found something to like in all my works actually. ^_^

I'm just giving my honest opinion. When I like something I say so.

Thanks! Encouraging comments mean a lot to a beginner like me. I may continue doing illustrations for The Neverending Story in the future since I really like the book, and there are so many great scenes yet to be illustrated...
