Description The Bricklin SV-1 was built between 1974 and early 1976 in New Brunswick, Canada as a sports car with a bunch of safety features.

Note the color- all the colors were high-visiblity, the car had a roll cage, 5mph bumpers, and side-beams.

The early vehicles used an AMC 360 V-8, later on switching to a Ford Windsor 351. I have no idea what year or engine is in this particular vehicle. The performance and handling was comparable to the Corvette C3 of similar vintage- and unfortunately with all of the smog controls in place, Corvettes of this vintage are rather mediocre.

2,854 SV-1s were built, and right now, it's estimated that about 1100 still exist. They'reΒ  thought of as a cheap way to get yourself into interesting car shows with an unusual car. One in #1 condition, worth about 35k USD, one in #3 condition, a nice driver, about 14k USD.

Integrated bumper design, very period in terms of the shape, color, etc. Even gullwing doors!

The one I had was orange and had the 360 V8 from AMC.

I've seen one at the AACA Museum that color.

Volvo also was into the high-visibility colors for a bit in that era, but folks really didn't go for them.

Probably the one I used to own. Mine was serviced @ walker bros. AMC in LA because of the 360 engine. It was a heavy S O B.
