Even at rest, be ready, for the enemy can strike at any time.Gale doesn't really ever completely relax. He rests a fair bit when back at base, where he writes or reads or trains. But even there it's not complete relaxation. Here he is sitting on a chair (though you can't see it) at Hero's Sanctum, and he still isn't completely at ease. Only time I've seen him truly lower his guard is around Aislin, who he's known for a a long while.
This fantastic piece of art was made by my wonderful friend ~Kite-Ragun . Go check out more of her stuff. I hear she's taking commissions.

Gale isn't gonna get much more relaxed unless he's chatting with Aislin, who he's kind of a big brother for.

"Well now I know to be careful when stepping into your room... ever." Kyde gives a small smile. "You don't need to protect yourself in your own room. This place is your haven. It's meant to be the safest place for you."

((Gale would pick 19. It gives a clear view of the entrances, but also leaves enough room so any attack doesn't immediately overwhelm his position. I've liked this interaction between Gale and Kyde. He's just so frustratingly stoic, it makes what he says freaking hilarious to me.))

((Alright, it's yours... or his XD And I've enjoyed the interactions between these two as well. Kyde doesn't like people who are to much of one thing. Say to spastic or to protective. So she tries to get them to release a bit and go the other direction to save her own sanity. XD XD ))

Gale nodded. "Yes sir." He hesitated a little, looking inward before continuing. "It's... good, having a real home again."
((Gale does have more to him, it's showing it that he has trouble with. Being at war for ten years has... changed him, not to mention losing his homeworld at 17. This is just the part that appears most often to most people. He respects Kyde a great deal though, and she gets to see more of him than most.))

((And that makes him a good character! Though what most of the members don't know is that Kyde's home world was destroyed as well

Thank you for the compliment. I've been impressed with Kyde also. She seems very well rounded.
Hollow Bastion still stands though, overrun with Heartless and floating through the void like a broken corpse. The planet's continued existence frustrates him. He wants it back, but knows going there would be a suicide run. A meaningless death that serves no purpose.
At the heart of it Gale struggles against despair, rage and guilt. He has to keep others from the same fate, and to avenge what has fallen. He has a sword in his hand, and a war he can't win by himself but can never stop fighting.

She's my main character in everything. She's essentially myself.
Technically Hollow Bastian stands, but it's former glory as Radiant Gardens has fallen. It is sadly defeated, but not lost. The fact that it exists is a victory, but now that I know what it looked like before everything (thank you KH: BbS!) it is very sad and it makes me really mad as well.
Kyde's heart is broken. Pieces of it missing, though she is still able to function. She has a nobody and she was once one with her again, but something/someone tore them apart once more, thus making the void inside her much deeper and menacing. It isn't Darkness nor is it Light, and she tries to fill it, failing. So she tries to lead and protect everyone around her, even with no reason other than because she's there and can do it. Deep down she hopes that by protecting she can fill herself once more, without having to become one with her nobody again... a battle she lost the first time.
I should write this all down, but then members would read it and know of her past XD A difficult decision.

Two soldiers then, young in body but old in spirit, aged far before their time. Perhaps they will see the end of the war. Perhaps, eventually, they can stop fighting.
