Wow. That was my first reaction to this piece. The color palette that is here is very (cool) but the deep tones almost make it feel warm. Not cold. The colors of green, gray white and black compliment perfectly. And then the different shades of those colors only add to the depth of the piece.
Personally I would have liked to see the piece be wider more landscaped, but by no means does its height detract from the shot. The solitary tree to the left reinforces and validates the title of the piece also. The detail of the grass (it seems) really adds more visual eye candy here. Even the sky is dark only being lightened to the left side. It all adds to the sense of solitude and loneliness. Its very well executed. The artist is to be congratulated for an outstanding shot here.

Fantastic image. Could you offer any tips on how to get the "smooth" effect of the colors (if that makes sense). The green plants have it the most and I really like it.

This is really catchy piece. What I like the most is this horizontal line between sky and grass. Tree on the left gives great accent. I'm just curious what happened to the sky - why is it grey? It would be even more beautiful if light was stronger, more dramatic, if you know what I mean. But I like it, I really do.
