From the DragonArt Evolution book [link] byI experimented with making my own brushes in Photoshop, and used them for the textures.

love the texture! I kinda got a Neon Dragon sense when I looked at it. how did you do the texture? lol i accidently put it in the Naruto folder.. fail -.-'

Thanks! I'm glad it still has some Neon Dragon-ness despite the fact the coloring approach is way different
For the texture I used the magic wand tool to select the areas I wanted to paint over, then used some custom brushes w/ scattering. Nothing too fancy, really.

Nah, I had all the flat base colors on one layer, so all I had to do was click on one color and then paint over it.
Trying to do it with the lasso tool would have taken forever though lol.
