I don't have any of them where I live, but in York, there is a park and they come very close to you, I've got one on my leg once, pity I didn't have a camera with me at that moment

Oh that must have been so cute! I went to a national park once, not thinking to bring any treats, and the chipmunks got very aggressive in their begging. It made me a little nervous....

Yes, on my deck. I sat outside to enjoy the sun and color. And of course, the hungry creatures....
My house is raised so that the first floor is half as high as a normal second floor. That puts the deck right among the branches of the trees. It's so nice in the summer. The branches of the gold maple grow right over the deck. We sit under them and it's like being in a tree house. The birds and squirrels are right up there with us....
The red maple you see in this picture is getting large enough to do the same.

No, squirrels fight back! The can't resist chasing them though. The squirrels will sit on the rail, tails hanging over, not caring that the cat is below. The cat just can't help batting at that fluffy tail! You can tell they are not really trying to catch it...
