Dice used for fantasy role playing games. And probably for otehr things too
Seeing them still reminds me of the intensity, of that adrenaline high from running 8-hour or longer gaming sessions in a marijuana-smoke-filled student room more than twenty years ago. I probably got high too, and I didn't smoke. But then, I didn't need to get high just to be weird

Reminds me of the time my poor little Gray Elven 1st/1st level Ranger/Mage started in a new campaign run by a ******** DM who (In his kindess) decided that I would start at 1st level in an average 9th level campaign...
I then got to meet a lovely Venerable Blue Dragon who fired 4 (I think 4) Magic Missiles at my character...
Seeing that my character had all of 6hp, this is the same as saying 'I just killed you on purpose, no escape' , I was understandably not happy with the DM.
I loved the smoky D20s.
I had several.
I thought (And still do) think of carving a dice set from real stone (Possibly a Quartz set with Smoky Quartz, Rose, Citrine, Amethyst and Clear) since I have mad lapidary skills

It's ten years or so since I last ran a game. Everyone had to see the dice as far as I was concerned, although I admit that as GM I used dice others couldn't see.

i was oddly enough in the same bout only 12 years ago! i wasnt the one smokin, cuz i didnt need it to be a goofball goober to play games like ad& d.... i will not name any more

thouse dice have certainly seen some use

They were used heavily over a period of about ten years. I havent done any rolegaming for over 10 years now though.
