Description Baron Von Voe’s Log

Personal log entry 13,406:

This is Baron Von Voe the man formerly known as Dr. Grueber, the date is September 21st and I have finally regained consciousness.  It has been four months since Michael Anders designated ELITE One attempted to kill me when he destroyed my main research facility in Cairo, Egypt.  Unfortunately for his brave efforts my resolve to live was greater than death’s grasp.  However he did manage to destroy 80 % of my body with his extra-ordinary powers.

Despite that fact my wife Evangeline was able to retrieve my remains and resuscitate my life functions.  Although for now I am content to be confined to a stasis tube where machines and nutrient liquids keep my life from drifting away into oblivion.  My wife told me it would take at least eight months to construct a new body capable of sustaining my life.  This is most upsetting.

I am left with no other choice than to initiate the ADAM Project.  I was hoping that this would be postponed another five years, however due to the constant interference of the ELITE I must precede ahead of schedule.  The ELITE have become a most annoying hindrance and it is something I will remedy very quickly.

I have spent some time reviewing the expenditure of resources, materials and personnel and I have deemed that it is currently inefficient to attempt to maintain control of the Americas.  North America is nothing more than a wasteland with only four major cities still holding a significant population and it has come to my attention that most support the ELITE’s efforts.  Central America has valuable natural resources but due to recent attacks I must cut my losses.  South America has maintained strong loyalties to me but has provided little in tangible results other than exotic research materials.

After weighing the options before me I have decided to field test my newest experiment; the Hive.  These creatures are the product of years of research and genetic manipulation.  I have successfully combined the hive mentality of bees and ants with a highly aggressive and territorial mutant creation of my own design.  These creatures, if they act according to my predictions, will swarm into highly populated areas and begin to construct massive hives.  Then they will proceed in consuming almost all organic material in the area to feed the growing population and then spread to new areas.  The reproduction and growth rate of my creatures is astounding and it will provide the ELITE with something far more substantial to deal with as they try to protect and liberate the citizens of these American cities.

I unleash this creation out of my love for the world because I must have time to complete my work and reshape the world into a utopia of my own design.  However I am prepared with a countermeasure just in case the Hive proves a threat to my operations in the body of a hyper-virus that will render them all sterile and place them in a lethargic state.

However this brings to mind my son Joseph.  Despite my efforts to adjust the growing chemical imbalances within his brain through further genetic manipulation and even cybernetic implants his mental state continues to deteriorate at alarming rate.  I wish now that I never allowed him to volunteer for the body alteration and genetic improvements.

My wife informed me that Joseph’s continued cannibalistic tendencies are becoming harder and harder to control.  Luckily he still listens to his mother but the real question is for how much longer.  He has fully become the monster he is referred to; Manslaughter.  Although something else has come to my attention over this particular situation; when my son aka Manslaughter consumes the flesh of others his body uses their genetic material to near instantly repair any damage his body has sustained.

Also my wife has brought to my attention that during my state of unconsciousness that Joseph has gone through more alarming physical changes that we could not predict.  His body has increased to three times its original size and he has grown a second set of arms, however this new set of appendages seems underdeveloped.  His body has increased in density making any cartridge below a .50 caliber explosive round useless against him and his strength continues to grow.  The last test results show a capacity to rend reinforced steel alloy as if it were wet paper.  Needless to say I will have to perform further tests and make a conscious effort to help my son retain his identity.

More on a personal reflection of things; it has been five years since I began my noble campaign to reshape the world and it has been time well spent.  Even despite my current physical condition by the sheer fact of my survival means that my purpose must be of a divine nature and a goal that cannot be denied.  With the embryonic hatcheries working at full capacity my army should be back up to full strength by the end of the year and with a fresh force numbering 1.5 billion strong the annoyance of the ELITE will finally be put to rest.

End personal log and file under the heading of “My Memoirs.”

Joseph sounds like he's turning into something he would regret...if he was still sane that is

His mental failings actually play a big part in the story as a whole.

The Zerg are awesome but I developed the idea of the Hive before I ever played Starcraft. They are actually a creation that involves the combined DNA of roaches, ants, bees and reptiles.

okay, that sounds like the tyranids from warhammer 40k, which makes sense, seeing as blizzard ripped off the tyranids when they made the zerg

controversy my ass, they completely ripped off the eldar, space marines and tyranids,

hell, games workshop sued blizzard and won, they get royalties every time starcraft merchandise sells

that doesn't mean starcraft isn't totally awesome, it is, but warhammer is better (but only if your willing to devote the time and the shitload of money required to build an army) tau are the best

There's a Warhammer game out for the 360. I think I'll check it out.

if its an rts don't bother, those always suck on consoles (with the exception of halo wars)

ive never actually played a 40k video game, but i have a standard sized space marine army for the actual table top game, though its not painted

My friend played the table top and I just could never afford to sink that kind of money into it.

My brother knew a guy who spent around $10,000 on his collection but he also had a building in his backyard that was set up just to play Warhammer.

I guess it does but G.I. Joe is a cultural icon and when you have any two organizations facing off you tend to compare them to classics.

okay now this seems like a G.I. Joe style

In a way yes it is because you have two organizations going at each other but unlike [link] the upper hand is held by the villians and the majority of the world is on their side.

ouch so it is like Gi Joe mixed with Gears of War of something like that

I wouldn't go that far because the good guys in my story are the ones who have to stay hidden and underground in some cases.
