I'm kinda sad he's pushing away from full-class critiques. I really like seeing other peoples' work and their approaches to the project (particularly the people that put more effort into their stuff, like you).
How does your creature interact with its environment? What does it eat? How does it live? etc.

Yeah, I understand his logic, we really don't have the time for full critiques, but even if the feedback of the class isn't always top-notch, seeing what everyone else did can be pretty inspirational (....or, you know... good for a laugh...)
My dude has fins that expand between the legs to allow for swimming and gliding, should they climb tries and jump (they migrate a lot). It eats bugs and small birds by luring them close with light from the pours on its back, which resemble eyes.
Suppose I'll see yours in class today? If I recall we're gonna see everyone's tonal drawings.

I just found out why I'm not sleeping tonight.
Kidding, it reminds me of something I came up with long ago... I need to start practicing art more so I can draw all the crap the runs through my head.
My favorite part is that it almost looks like its smiling. Creepy.

Monsters with funky teeth are awesome. Something about it makes them extra creepy. Yet it's still oddly cute, like an adorable bug-lizard thing.
... Out of curiosity, how big is it?

It's supposed to only be 2 to 3 feet long. Which given the snake-like body makes it rather small. I gotta do a "sell" image of it later where I hope scale is more obvious. For now the slightly big head will do.

I made the overall thing a bit too low-key. Looked a lot higher contrast on the school monitor than my own, which means it's probably even worse on many more monitors.

It actually has fins between its legs that expand in water to swim and let it glide from trees it has climbed.
