Seriously! Meg's character is utterly raped in Lloyd Webber's Phantom sequel LOVE NEVER DIES!(SPOILER) For fuck's sake, she ends up killing the main character, who she was bffs with only 10 years before! WEIRD SHIT!

I think her descent into madness at the end gave her great depth of character. And jealousy can do some crazy shit to people. She can't be perfect, right? Plus, everything she did was to help her mother and the Phantom. She was just naive.

This is, seriously, one of my biggest peeves about the so-called sequel. I LOVE Meg in POTO; she's sweet and curious and mild. And when I read the synopsis of the "sequel", I totally started spazzing.
This is character death. I don't care what anyone else says.

What I found strange was that Christine didn't even RECOGNIZE Meg upon seeing her. You'd think that if they were so close, Christine would at least remember what she looks like.

That whole musical is a hot mess. Plot-wise at least. The music and staging don't seem terrible.

Why the heck did they make this? In the book the phantom dies! Now hes joining a freak show and hes got a love child with Christine! Its like he made this show to make those Phantom+Christine fans!!! This show should be takin off the face of the earth!

Because Lloyd Webber needed to milk his favorite cash cow some more. It's bad enough it's based on the book "Phantom of Manhatten" which Webber helped write, but he simply took the worst well-known sequel and made it worse. The man's lost it, basically. He was bound to eventually.

I've kind of grown to hate the man over the years even though I still love CATS and PotO. He's really not that smart and he's very greedy. Love Never Dies pretty much proves both, especially all the effort he's been putting into it despite the plethora of negative reviews and the fact it's not becoming popular enough to tour in the US or much anywhere.
