Syaoran's sword "Hien" from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles.

Completed for Fanime 2011, so it’s been a few months, but I’m still happy with how this sword turned out. Since the katana is a tricky shape to make from scratch, this sword is built upon a pre-made redwood bokken. Despite the fact that I started with a pre-made item, I still spent an hour or two at the belt sander to grind the shape of the bokken down from its original chunky practice blade into taking an edge that resembled a working sword. Also, as Hien’s glamor is in its sleek, narrow shape, I also took some time to grind down the grip so that it was only barely wider than the ricasso of the blade. The grip is also embellished with raised detailing in knife-cut paperclay, painted with tawny-gold textured spraypaint, and hand painted flames erupting from a Fireopal Swarovski crystal on either side. The pommel features a long purple cord finished with orange and purple beads, as well as lighter purple tassels.
