Listen 715"x20", graphite and charcoal on toned illustration board
First Listen piece of 2016 completed! Halfway through the first run at attempting this drawing I started over. I was fighting with the paper and materials - sometimes it's best just to stop. I started fresh and tried out a new surface and used charcoal as the main rendering tool for the first time. I'm so happy with the results plus finding a new working method that suits my needs and taste - little victories are sometimes the best.

thanks. I tried working on a Β new surface and with some new materials so it was a bit uneasy figuring it out but I'm glad the results turned out well and I think it will be the new process for drawings.

The plan is to work the series long term... I go a day at a time but hopefully at least the next couple of years.

thanks. The background is just charcoal manipulated with paper towels and erasers. First time doing it, I'm just happy it turned fairly well.
