the following is me gushing about sonic
please do not feel obliged to read lol

ok so can i just take a second to appreciate this little guy?
i mean he's responsible for basically everything i'm passionate about today

if it weren't for sonic i probably wouldn't have gotten into drawing
drawing him over and over again taught me the skills i use to start every drawing
its how i learned to draw quick, round circles, and how to properly add perspective lines to a drawing

i probably wouldn't be playing games today without him either
sonic advance 3 was my introduction to gaming, and if i didn't play that, i may never have gotten a ps2 or any of my other consoles
i also probably wouldn't know about the, well, INTERESTING world of online flash games
and as dumb as it sounds, some of my fondest gaming memories are of playing tanki online and fancy pants adventures on miniclip

it even fueled my love for music
the funky melodies of the original games and the heavier rock pieces of crush 40 in the adventure and modern games really gave me a good introduction to the musical world
memories of long car journeys with my 3ds listening to "live and learn" or any of the songs from the sonic heroes soundtrack

and thats only the tip of the iceberg. the sonic shorts series got me into internet animations, and today i'm still inspired by the games in terms of character and colour design, and its even got me interested in how games are made

anytime i think of sonic i think of good times
even trainwrecks like sonic 06 and sonic r remind me of my old ps3 or the sonic gems collection
i may have taken a long break from the games, but now that sonic mania is out im back, and im not going anywhere anytime soon
