I bought an anatomy book about birds and that helped me a lot, but you can find a lot of pictures about anatomy on deviantart too

Gosh. This looks so realistic. The background is amazing and the clouds are just great. 
But I wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't examine the picture longer to admire it. It has an almost painted traditionally sort of feel to it.
