Description
Started this ages ago and it came to an abrupt halt, so I dusted it off for another shot.This is my first serious attempt at painting realistic hair.
I'm really pleased with the final look. In some ways it's quite similar to the Scarlett Johannson piece - in terms of the angle of the head and the colour palette.

now this one looks more plastic-y than the other, but who cares? it's still incredibly awesome. i love all the details, and the expression... and everything basically. great job!

I hadn't quite gotten my skin texture process worked out when I did this one. It was all about the hair.
When I painted Elisha, it was the hair and the skin. Yeah... I like to make things difficult for myself!

I have to admit, the hair in this piece is probably the best I've done. On other portraits I was formulating my own technique, finding my way, but with this one, I think I found it.

Hair is a helluva hard thing to capture in art, and I'm thinking you've either got it or getting closer to your goal man.
