Description
My hairsticks again, but on a model this time.Photography by Dave Fenton
The model's name escapes me at the moment.
(edited: as of this posting these are NOT FOR SALE. I am working on a version but as I already work 50 hours a week and don't exactly have a manufacturing facility at my disposal or the money to hire one, I can't make any promises. When/if I am able to change that, it will be noted here.

How are you at 3D modeling?
Β Β You could always put the axe heads designs on sites like shapeways? Β Make the capable to be installed on (for example) chopsticks? Β I know a few people who would do all the work just to get their hands on these!

That's one of the avenues I'm persuing at the moment. It's just a difficult compromise because I don't really want to use plastic or alumide but steel is too heavy to make it a practical choice. And thanks for the offer, but I've got the 3D part under control.

I have a friend that is a jewellery artist and I have asked her if she could make something like this. I hope you are o.k. with that. If not I will let her know.
She will be doing some thing differently, but considering the inspiration will be coming from these I though I should ask if you are o.k. with your idea being inspiration for her to make them.

I spent about 15 minutes looking for the creator of these! I have to say, these are too cool! If you don't have time to make and sell, you could always do a tutorial and sell that for a dollar or something

I'm actually still working on 'em. Sourcing the stones is the big challenge. these ones were a weird cut and I only picked up what I needed for the project. :/

Beautiful! I would love a pair of these to wear. Besides the bear trap and these pole axe hairsticks, have you created any hairpieces that resemble other weapons... like SWORDS? I love scimitars and other exotic swords. I'm no fighter, just love the pageantry of swordplay. Plus I have a best friend who is a swordsman and would love to show my support of his game in a girly way!

Another name for the "Please let me know one these become commercially available!" list... Also, please make the sticks as strong as you can without sacrificing aesthetics! I don't know about everyone else, but my hair is long and very straight, so to get stick-buns to stay up, I have to twist them very tight, and as a result my hair EATS wimpy sticks for breakfast. Cheap chopsticks, worn pencils, I even bent one metal chopstick. :/
