Description
BRONCO INFANTRY SUPPORT MECH
*Based on the Cabarov AG9 NICHOLAIEV, from Fang of the Sun Dougram. I had long told myself I would NOT, EVER, under ANY circumstances do this stupid looking thing. But I said that about the Mackeral, too, and here we are. My self loathing has brought me this low, lol. Or my frikking immobility while my knee heals. Probably would be further along if I didn't have to navigate a frikking spiral staircase multiple times a day. I blame you, Michael Miller

Overview
The Bronco is a cheap Infantry Support Mech, meant to quickly help bolster the rebuilding Federated Suns Regimental Combat Teams. Based on a modified Hussar chassis and using many off the shelf components from the Valkyrie, it is meant to be as simple, durable and affordable as possible, in some ways it can be likened to the Fed Suns equivalent of an Urbanmech, but not as limited in mission profile.
Capabilities
Designed from jump to be an Infantry Support vehicle, the design boasts decent mobility, protection and firepower, while eschewing most expensive or experimental technology.
It's primary firepower comes in the form of two Defiance 1002 Light PPCs, mounted in a turret in the right torso. Supporting that are a pair of detachable Rocket Launcher 10s,mounted outboard the knees. And finally, each arm mounts three Corean -Vickers Light Machine Guns, mounted in machine gun arrays, to provide withering anti personnel fire, without becoming a meme like the Clan Piranha.
For mobility, the Bronco reaches a top speed of 86 kph, thanks to it's Omni 150 std reactor, and bolsters this with four jump jet nozzles in the side torsos, allowing leaps up to 120m. The Arms are missing lower arm and hand actuators, and are used as control foils while jumping, while being able to fold down when needed to fit down narrow alleys, or to work in conjunction with the jump jets, to regain it's feet after a fall. While not fast, it's plenty enough to keep up with the ground forces it's meant to support.
Protection comes in the form of 4.5 tons of Reise 470 standard plate, and a CASE system for the machine gun ammo in the left torso. With only the L-PPCs really generating heat, the 10 base single heatsinks were considered sufficient, though it doe mean jumping and firing of the PPCs can run the machine a little hot.
Still, by eschewing expensive technology, the machine maintains a low price tag, at barely 2.5 million, in an era where even light mechs are often 3x that. A version with a LFE is being tested also, the weight saving being use to mount a Bloodhound Active Probe.
Deployment
The Bronco is just now entering testing, but has been assigned to the Davion Brigade of Guards, first.
