/ic/ has these color exercise where you pick a few random colors put it on the canvas and then you just have to draw with these. If you find it hard to choose colors just try this out. You'll find that you can usually get away with all the colors you want as long as it's tinted with the rest of the colors in your painting. The only risk is that all your colors get to muddy. But that's usually simple to fix. As soon as you find your picture loose saturation or gets muddy, pick the color that's dirty and then change the saturation or value as you see fit. If you do this exercise it's usually also good to pick a wide range of values from dark to light, or your picture will get boring.
As for the picture, i actually went farther with its details and the water looked a bit more like water, but i can't find where i saved it to.

Yeah, i like it a lot too, especially because it has a nice flow and movemnt to it. It would just need some more rendering and polishing...but i don't think i want to spent more time on it. The thing with this unifnished paintings is that i mostly do them to change my mind and to try to understand certain things i'm struggling with. so when i've got what i wanted out of them and the tedious part comes....the rendering..i begin to get bored and struggle to come back and finish.

Finished or not, these are still....heavily inspirational. I think my personal favorite would be fourth down. I don't know why, but I just find that one to be particularly neato~

yes i like it too. It has a lot of movement. I like them all for different reasons. Mainly because each one of these paintings helped me understand a new thing.

Are these unfinished for just...normal unfinishing reasons? Such as, no time, lack of inspiration, etc?

These are mostly paintings i started because i wanted to try something out or to change my mind from the other work. So when i have to stop and work on actual work I usually don't have the drive to come back and finish them. I usually prefer to try something new instead.
