That's OK Maria, I've been a bit quieter too. Busy doing my polymer clay creating and having a ball. Whether sitting doing crafts is any healthier than sitting at the computer I'm not quite sure

I can always count on you for levity, Richard, lol. And, yes...you are absolutely right about the dof. I hesitated to put this up just for that reason, but the sky was so pretty, I couldn't resist. I think that one of my problems is that my night vision is not the best, so it looks in focus to me until I see it uploaded. (Or maybe I was loaded when I took it, lol.) I will certainly mind it for the next entry! Thanks, as always for your honesty and comments.

I understand Maria...I only mention things such as that because I wish for people to make something good, better when possible
In this situation you focus on the trees and then set a small aperture to bring in the sky into focus. I'm not sure if you camera has a DOF preview button on it...but for those cameras that do, its a very helpful option to have because with it you can see what is and isn't in focus. But it use was more appreciated on film cameras. With digital you can just review the shot in the monitor to see the results. An extra step but useful nonetheless.
