Well i just got a wacom tablet and i've been messing around all night. This is what i came up with.Used:
Corel Painter 8
Adobe Photoshop CS
6x8 wacom tablet

Hmm. Not one of your best works, but not too bad. The eyes came out good and you got a cool effect with the hair. Lovin that wacom eh? The part i idnt like was the green skin, but thats subjective I guess...to each his own. Anyways the texture is just thrown onto the skin. I can show you an easy way to texture map in photoshop if you want. Knowing your skills you prolly know how but otherwise lemme know.

That's pretty cool. It has a very dark and different feel to it. It's pictures like these that make me want a good paint program...Keep it up!

interesting.... I had a look at the stock reference image and your end result..
I like the effect, it looks like the subject actually had the effect painted on her skin or was part of her skin, instead of just the photo being touched. Without knowing what the stock photo looked like, with my current experience I wouldn't have know where the illusion had started.
