Deviantart is a place to post your own art. If you'd like to pay homage to the original artist, just place the piece in your favorites, instead of posting it on your own account. People can still look in your favorites, but won't be confused about who made the piece, and the artist can get the proper credit they deserve.
I know a lot of people post things that's not theirs, but I feel like it's more of a hurt to the artist than anything.
