Ben 10 is a kid. Let us not forget this. Okay, the Omnitrix kinda negates that status, but he is, still, in the words of Blooregard Q Kazoo, a KID.Nevertheless he is funny.
He thinks he can handle anything? Let him tackle the metroids! Obviously Samus is annoyed that he's told her to let him handle it.
I bet there would be an awesome new boss to fight if that metroid gots its hands on the omnitrix. Imagine that! Man, the consequences of that incident would open up a whole new area of marketing for both companies!
Whoa. Did I say that?

In all honesty, he may fare better against M.B. aka Mellissa Bergman, seeing as most of his villains have to have regular thought proesses for him to beat them.

M.B.-In Metroid: Other M, the Galactic Federation used metroid remains left on Samus's suit from the Zebes mission to reconstruct the metroids and other Zebesian and Space-Pirate life (including Ridley, whose infancy is shown) to create a special forces unit made entirely of bio-weapons, the big cheese of the unit being the metroids, which are now nearly invulnerable to cold temperatures. This secret project was carried out one the Bottle Ship, the setting of the game. However, to control these life-forms they needed something with the brainwaves to minapulitating them. The needed Mother Brain. So, under leadership of the lead scientist Madeline Bergman, they created M.B. a computer program capable of emitting Mother Brain's brainwaves. However, the researches believed that it would be easier to control their army if they had an ideal mother-child relationship, which would be easier if the life-forms could see M.B. upon birth, which would be easier if they converted M.B. into a sentient android. M.B. was made a female, possibly teenage-early twenties, android and treated as the daughter to Madeline Bergman and named "Mellissa". Mellissa became not only the key to controlling the bio-weapons but also a daughter, lab assisstant, and... a liability. The treatment her "children" were getting she deemed unacceptable, and it appeared she developed emotions after seeing several infant metroids hatch. Thusly, her emotions became a threat to her original purpose and needed to be reprogrammed. Madeline only watched helplessly as her pseudo-daughter was dragged away and screamed for help. Mellissa, now with a sense of betrayal in her head, overpowered her guards and exercised her control over the bio-army and turned the Bottle Ship into a replica of planet Zebes and basically a living hell, killing almost everyone. She then began to prepare her children and the ship to enter Galactic Federation atmosphere and bring justice upon the human race. That is until Samus and Adam Malkovich's team put a stop to that (well, the only ones who would really get credit are Samus who was the protagonist, Anthony Higgs who was the only survivor of Adam's team and the token black guy of the group, and Adam who sacrificed himself to blow up the sector where the metroids were held). Basically, before she was frozen and shot to peices by government bastards, she was a (possibly) teenage girl with psycich powers and the ability to control some of the most ferocious beings the universe has ever known. She is also the only Metroid villain with a regular thought process and is capable of having a conversation with Samus without shrieking. Ben faces stuff like that all the time, he practically lives off of villains with regular thought processes. Still, note I said he'd fare better, not win, M.B. would still kill his @$$ if Samus weren't along for the ride.
Well now that you (hopefully) understand that I can apologize for making such a long comment explaining the story behind a video-game villain. Buh-bye!

I've never cared enough to play the Metroid games, but what exactly do the Metroids do? Do they, like, suck your energy, or something...?

I like it when you can tell that they're a kid, and they KNOW they're still a kid. ^^ Like in Icemark, when someone says "Queens who are still girls, and warlocks who are still bosy" which was a sweet line.

Totally agree. That's why I hate Anakin in Star Wars... the first ep I mean, when he was a kid. I find it almost insulting that Lucas wanted us to believe that a nine-year-old kid with absolutely no training could pilot a starfighter AND defeat the enemy, no matter how much "Force" he was supposed to have...
