Description This will be moved to scraps later.
This is something I am working on for myself. I haven't done that in awhile. I have been meaning to sketch out these two dragons. They are from the book I am writing. There are a few chapters posted here on my page if you are interested.

I am posting this sketch because I don't really like it. I think it looks wrong. Not sure what to point too. I think it's cause the dragons look too cutzie. I don't do creepy and scary. Most of my drawings are clean and nice. I don't really want these two to look scary just more dragon.... I also feel like some of the anatomy is off.
Please share any thoughts. Let me have it!

The dragons are Arcaro and The Iconte
Arcaro is a male blue dragon. In the story he is a guardian for the main character. Over the course of the story he interacts with the other dragon and forms a mated relationship.
The Iconte is not a name it is a title. It refers to the dragon that leads all. The Iconte is seen as a semi god like figure and any commands are absolute. In tradition the Iconte is male and earns the seat by an endowed enlightenment. It is somehow understood that the Iconte is always a reincarnation of the same dragon. The position does not often change hands, as dragons are long lived. It's hard to follow a tradition that can't be fully remembered. Any dragon in the position is called the Iconte and no longer has a different name.
Unknown to the characters of the story world. This dragon is actually female. She lives as a male dragon would and is seen as male. Dragons may know otherwise but her gender is not acknowledged. The Iconte is male.
This Iconte is sister to the dragon god Crey. (Crey is a character from Kataz. He is also Blaze's grandfather)
She is a pearl dragon with red, blue and purple highlight patterns.

Yeah, when you draw a dragon you're starting by what?

I draw out circles and sketchy shapes that make up the basic body. I figure dragons would have horse like anatomy so I start with that. I learned when I was young about basic shapes used to draw horses. Sketching makes it easier to shit stuff around and check proportioning. After the shapes you can put in the muscle bulk.

Oh nice ^^ I think I'll try to do some sketchy shapes next time. Because, I always start to draw an eye, and then the face base on that, but it's so much harder to figure out a good design with just that ^^'

yah don't start with details. It's hard to flow from there. The sketches let you work in all parts. I do mine kind of quick and just keep flowing. use light pressure and don't worry about extra lines. Just let the creativity flow. Good luck!
