XDDDDD I've never done a circular painting before, I don't think! <3 But I really like it. Now I want to do companion pieces for the other 3 seasons. X3 This always happens ~ whatever season it is, the colors of that season end up in the paintings of the moment.
This painting has been in my head forever. About a year ago, I did a painting of Ninetails curled around her baby Vulpix. <3 [link] It continues to be one of the most popular things I've ever done, and I'm really proud of it. But it's kind of popular because it's pokemon, not because it's special.
So this painting is for me, of my own characters, in a similar setting. Special. c: Thank you for looking.

BRILLIANT coloring! It feels like your captured the intensity of autumn's shades in a bubble, and now Viru and Skittlez are floating in it, happy and snuggled. My insides are turning to fluff and rainbows as we speak.

If I do more circle seasons, they'll all be of animal shapes. 8D Though maybe not especially of Skittlez.
Winter would probably be Sedna and the fish.
Spring I am completely unsure of.
Summer is definitely of the dragon.

I dunno, I like them in their animal forms in this instance, cause Skittles would look too hilarious being all, "Duur hurrr, love me..." in her human form. XD
I really love the colors you used in this one. So far, I've seen a lot of mishmashes of blues in the night times scenes and reds and golds for...whenever Vidu's around, lol. But I don't think I've seen that mixture of purple, blue, and crimson at the top mixed in with that crimson color. And with that gold? Omg. Absolutely gorgeous. And Vidu's wings are very majestic, too. Love those things! I guess it's the way you draw them. They're very natural looking.

Yay color mixes. 8D The only color I fear to use and avoid at all cost is the color green. T_T I have no eye for it. You'd think color mixing would be a sort of all or nothing deal, but green is exempt, apparently.

I've always found color mixing easier in watercolor than with any other medium. I think you'd be safe with green if you only mix like colors with it like...yellow. Yellow and green are beautiful together. Any other color might take you into 'muddy' territory. Well, except blue. Blue's a good shading color I noticed. You can throw it anywhere, lol. I wanna paint now. >.<

haha, I think part of it is that i have a weird relationship with color.
In my eyes, green is probably the most powerful color. True green is symbolic of life and sun, and it's really hard to find in nature a true green environment. (Most environments are mixtures of yellow and blue that might make green.) I've never lived in a true green place, I have no personal association with green. When I try to paint with green, I get too many other colors involved because of green's association with sun/life, it equals every other color to me. @___@ Muddiness becomes a problem. When I try to make something monochromatic of green, it turns blue because I'm surrounded by blue environments and blue colored things and people.
It should be the factual thing, color mixing. But for me everything goes badly when green arrives. 8(

I think with your works being as bright as they are anyway, having a true green show up, be it very little, or a whole lot of it, wouldn't be such a bad idea. And even then. When you have a lot of blues like in...this one: [link] it doesn't even matter. You still create the illusion of green and you still capture a natural setting that straight green probably wouldn't be able to capture. I like playing around with colors and if I ever have trouble with one, I'll muddy that shit up for the sake of discovery. Lol, I should've known where that sentence was gonna go. XD FOR SCIENCE! *makes a jacked up I Don't Even...color* WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE?!
While I'm thinkin' about it. Me and color don't get along smoothly either. In watercolors, I'm not afraid to mix things together. But when I get into a different medium like acrylics or...evil digital...I can't use my color mixing techniques as easily and I keep wanting to make everything bland and flat.

I absolutly love the orange and gold offset by the purple and even though it is a cirlce painting (which looks awesome BTW) it isn't too contstrand by the circle and feels natural, not force. This picture totally feels happy and makes me smile
