I love the bass lines in any music. Whether played by bass guitar or classical Bass. I seem to be one of the few people that can pick it out in any complex modern music, especially Punk.
Most people can't even pick up the solo melody sequences in any loud rock music, let alone the harmonic note and chord sequences that really bring an atmosphere into the rest of the music.
It's really sad that people don't know what they are missing out on. Especially since you can't even eliminate the other instruments with an equalizer, due to their low frequencies.

Well can't blame them all. Not everyone has a decent pair of headphones either, which help a bit. It can be tough for me sometimes, with my poor quality headsets I have. But it's true, there are a lot of people out there who don't appreciate music the way they should, and they're really missing out because of it.

Thanks! Yeah, I just sorta drew them as clippy headphones or something... at the time I didn't really put much thought into it.

You heard that? Heh, I don't talk much about it, but yeah, I do web design. It's really not too bad of a career that can extend into other things as well. And of course, I can give you plenty of sites that will help with that! I can note/e-mail you a few or if you have a specific topic in mind you'd like help with I can probably find you some stuff on it or help you out myself. ^_^ Next time I catch you online maybe we can chat about it or something.

Any sites that can help me out would be great! I haven't really found any good sites that help out much.
Also, I wanted to know if it was easy finding jobs? I suppose it'd be different for you, since you live in a different area, but I want to get a feel for what's out there. No point in starting a career in something when there is no market for web designers.

Well a great resource on getting started with web design is webmonkey (www.webmonkey.com). They're wonderful and can teach you just about anything you'd want to know. Another wonderful place for webdesign, flash programming and even photoshop stuff is kirupa.com. They have lots of cool stuff there. And for flash, there are two great places I frequent. "GoToAndLearn.com" and "Actionscript.org". GoToAndLearn.com has a bunch of really good tutorials, and whats better is that they are video tutorials, so the guy shows you what to do instead of it being script and photos. Actionscript.org is basically a forum along with quite a few text tutorials. What's great about this place is not only the tutorials they have, but the forums are a gold mine. Any question you have has actually probably already been answered, and if you can't come across an answer there, you can always post your questions along with code, and people will usually help you out. This place has been awesome for me, especially when I'm coding in Flash and just can't get my head around what I'm supposed to do. Awesome place. "[link] " isn't too bad of a place either, but I don't visit much. If I come across any other websites I visit, I'll be sure to send them over, but these are all that come to mind at the moment. ^_^
As for getting a job, it's sorta touch and go. It can be easy to get a job at a place, doing a simple site and site updates for a small company, but the starting pay isn't going to be much. It is, however a foot in the door, and you can move up from there. So landing a job can be easy, but you still have to work your way up. Then there's freelancing stuff if you're into that sort of thing. So yeah, getting a job isn't too bad if you know what your doing and have a pretty good portfolio.

Yeah, it's possible to do work over the internet. I do most of my work from home and update my clients through e-mail. Of course, payment is a little more difficult over the internet, but there are always mailed checks and electronic transfers and the like. It really just depends. If you want to work in a studio you have to go where the work is. If you're just freelancing it, you can pretty much work where you like.

Hm, you have a point there. I will have to think about this some more! Though I'm starting to think I'm way over my head with web design, there are so many other better people out there than me, I'm not too sure I can catch up.

I wouldn't worry about playing catch up. Worry more about learning good design and web programming. ^_^ It's like any art, if you focus too much on what everyone else is doing your own stuff will suffer. That's not to say don't pay attention to what everyone else is doing, just don't let it get ya down. And don't feel bad taking a few courses at a local college or something either.

Honestly, I'd say stick with a Graphic Design major. If anything minor in Web Design. A Graphic Design major can get you into many different careers, Web Design not so much. It's possible, just more of a stretch. You can always go into the Web Design field with a Graphic Design major. ^_^ It's unfortunate, but the title does affect how you look to employers
