Description First of all, sorry for being a bit absent lately. I feel somewhat out of it. OCT withdrawal maybe? Dunno, I just feel off. That said, I don't want to disappear completely, so the trickle of art continues... XD

And here's the cast image for Gordon's two PokΓ©mon, Ornlu the Mightyena and Chaser the Yanma (yes, I decided to cram the two in the same image). They'll both be making their debutes in SoL soon.

Ornlu is Gordon's first PokΓ©mon, and like his owner he is very quiet but reliable. He turned out a bit light-colored here, but let's just say he's a silver breed or something; not accepted in shows, obviously. Does not represent the breed. Well, not in looks at least. Like most members of his species, Ornlu fights like a demon.

Chaser, meanwhile, is a very normal Yanma. He's also quite young, and insecure about his combat abilities. If he realizes his opponent is stronger than him, Chaser panics. He is very affectionate, though.

Loving the realistic detail you made with the yanma and that front paw on the mityena, the one slightlyt turned towards the camera--cute!. Hope you get over your slump soon!

Thanks! (I did use references, I usually do, but still... XD)

Well, I'm not really in a slump perse. It's not an art block, but more of a realization that I came a bit close to a burnout, and now that I'm recovering from that, the sudden lack of deadlines and the fact that the relentless pace of cranking out pages is gone...
It leaves a bit of a void. I thought that my experiences with OCTs would mean that I'd get faster at working on SoL too, but it seems the production speed stayed relatively the same, because I'm a bit fed up with comics.

I'm sure it'll come back eventually (counting on it, in fact), but I just need some time to acclimatize, I think. Doing non-comic art goes a long way in making me feel better.

You'll be doing a lot of art now that your contest is over. XD

Very cool. You draw the best poses, and your canines always look great.

As for that whole OCT withdrawal... there's always , you know. :3c And you can take that at your own pace, so no overload worries!

Thanks! ^^

Well, when I say withdrawal, I mean I suddenly find myself without the constant pressure of deadlines, and it's a bit... disorientating?

Also, I now have tons of other things to do. Things I sort of neglected to take care of, while doing OCTs. Like keeping my dA message system in check (over 1500 messages, ahem)...

So... I need to take care of that first. But I'd also like to join the IPL eventually. I'm already working on a character for it, but she'll have some 5th gen mons. Waiting for IPL to allow that.

ahaha, it is weird when you suddenly have nothing to do. now that i have a job, it's really weird to have two days off and realize ... er, what am i supposed to do now?

oh lawdy that is a lot of messages. you may want a leaf blower to deal with some of that.

awesome! you're in luck, by the way. IPL has allowed isshu pokemon as long as you factcheck movesets and stuff on sites that have info and you don't use legendaries, and make sure you change the names to the english ones asap when they're revealed. can't wait to see her!

(I wish I had two days off... Lol.)

I am going to plow through some of those messages, yes. Been doing that on and off for a while now. XD

Oh really? That's good to hear!
But I think I'd like to finish my PV first, before beginning with IPL. Nothing confuses me more than running multiple projects, lol.

You must have been quite the AoE2 player.

Age of Empires 2? Funny you should say so! I didn't really have that in mind when I designed these two, but when I was younger I clocked hundreds of hours on AoE2 with my brothers. So I guess you're right. ^^

It was fun.

I just fondly remember Ornlu being a chief character in one of the campaign scenarios for Ghengis Khan.

Yeah, same here. ^^

The name is catchy.

Indeed, considering how many times the name pops up in AoE2 (and in AoE3, surprisingly).

Some of the treasure items are associated with Ornlu.
