Description The one scene that never actually appeared in the final release of Ocarina of Time. This beta footage [link] that Nintendo showed off led to so many arguments on whether or not the Triforce could be obtained in the game. Some people even pointed to the fact that there's a beveled Triforce spot in the menu as possible proof. But alas, there's no way to get it. :/

Thank you. It's a shame that the fan project to reconstruct the beta was canceled [link] , it looked promising.

But isn't Donatello the softy of the group?

XD Yes, but Kenshiro is the softy of his group too... He is still a badass. In fact he's a badass because he's more of a softy.

So amazing! I wonder what would have been the Triforce's purpose, If I remember, it said in a game site that it would be needed to enter to Ganondorf's tower and that it would be obtained in the Temple of Light, interesting, in the trailer something that resembles the Pyramid from ALttP appears at the end although it could be Ganon's tower too

I wonder that myself sometimes. It's very interesting that the earlier builds of the game resemble AOL and ALTTP. Maybe the designers were just using current designs to test out the game engine.

Too bad that the Zelda beta restoration project was cancelled, it was going to be too cool such as using the sages medallions

Indeed. And now I know why OoT felt a little like a short game compared to other Zelda titles.

This is simply amazing! And nice footage! Also, if you think about it, I'm not sure why people would think that ou could get it, that would be impossible given that Ganondorf had the Tri-force of Power and Link the the Tri-force of courage, you obviously could not get what was already broken into 3 parts. Right?

But awesome picture and I love it!

Supposedly the Triforce was obtainable in the beta versions because it had a very different story from the final version of OoT, originally Link lived with his uncle in Kakariko village instead of the Kokiri forest, I think there was a magazine that told the original story

Wow, this is the first time I've heard about Link and his uncle living in Kakariko Village. That makes it even more like ALTTP.

thefireknight2008 In reply to BLUEamnesiac [2012-02-13 06:27:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it had many ALttp references with some of the plot elements of OoT and characters like Navi, Sheik, Malon and Talon have been already made

Interesting. I just brushed up on the beta news, I haven't kept up with it in a few years. Apparently, OoT, the unreleased Ura Zelda and Majora's Mask were originally to be one epic Nintendo 64 DD game instead of what we got. The details suggest it was to be more like an open sand box game, one far greater than Grand Theft Auto.

BLUEamnesiac In reply to legolover4321 [2012-02-13 04:09:45 +0000 UTC]

If I recall correctly, the people in the message boards treated it much like the case with FF7 and Aerith. So many people tried everything, even glitches and cheat codes to see if it was possible. I always thought the idea of getting it if it's not included with the main quest would be pretty silly.
Thank you!

Oh really? While I don't know much about Final Fantasy I can say as cool as it could be to get that it doesn't make sense anyway. lol
No problem. (:

BLUEamnesiac In reply to legolover4321 [2012-02-13 04:34:15 +0000 UTC]

Indeed! I like how the game suggested that the three already had their respective piece of the Triforce. There wouldn't have been an epic beast Ganon battle if he didn't have it after all.
