Description So there I am, happily sketching away at some soldier dude for no other reason than feeling like sketching. 20 minutes in, I go "Hey, this looks like that gasmask dude from Killzone...". Grr. I try to sketch somewhat away from him. 20 minutes later. "Hey, this looks sort of like a Star Wars stormtrooper..." Grr. No way to be original with scifi soldiers these days! Ah well. Was nice to sketch in any case. ^^

I just had this moment as I started drawing a pale elf sketch, which looked like EVERY GODDAMN ELF I'VE EVER SEEN DONE. I even tried to give him a soul patch or something but then he almost started looking like Ming the Merciless!

Argh. Suppose it's inevitable though; pointed ears, gaunt, long hair= elf.

That's been happening a lot to me within the past two years. It's kinda creepy when things you've made you thought were original, but then some company goes and publishes something extremely similar even though you were no where near each other or had any contact.

Still, this soldier guy you've drawn is awesome.
