I think you'll appreciate this story. 
When I was 17, my mother took my friends and I all to a restaurant for lunch. No doubt, part of the reason she did this instead of taking us to McDonald's was because she could have a cocktail while we all ate. After food and drinks arrived, she ended up getting deeply involved in a conversation with a person beside her. So much so, that she never noticed the long line of interconnected straws reaching from the opposite end of the table, slowly draining her cocktail away. My friend, who shall remain nameless, had managed to drain half her glass before she yelled and jerked the straw out. We all had a great laugh, and she had another cocktail.

I think everyone has at some point or another has tried to see how far they can get with straws before there own suction can't get it to work.

I think I could get to about 4-5 before I couldn't drink through it.
