The bigger problem is getting feather bits stuck in my teeth from biting off the fluffy part. xD;; (I really need to break that habit...)

Do you dye your own feathers or buy them already colored? Also how do you get such a variety of sizes?

I didn't dye any of them on this piece, they're just different colors of chicken. Chickens come in as many breeds as dogs or cats do, in all sorts of beautiful colors and patterns.
I get whole skins, so some of the feathers are small and rounded while others are long and pointy depending where on the bird they were.

There's not really a method to it. If I lean it against something rub it the wrong way they'll get messed up or even pulled out. O:
I just leave it hanging up and dust it with a feather duster if needed.

This is the best Deinonychus sculpture I have seen so far.Β The feathering is amazing!Β And I love the eye!Β This is very realistic.Β
