It's the thing with D&D, no matter how good you are at something, the dice is never above humbling you with a critical fail.

Oh god, yeah XD I remember when I was roleplaying (it was Warhammer, actually, but still) with my friends and me (as human) and my two buddies (human and dwarf) went drinking with bunch of random dwarves. After that (drunk as hell) we went to the cave to kill some monsters, and army of goblins attacked us. I had so much luck with dice that I was dodging their attacks like it was nothing XD They called me The Drunken Master
