Every single summer day in Taipei...cool mornings with the temp and humidity shooting northward until early afternoon when there's a sudden downpour. Then the cycle repeats again leading to another one at night.

The recession of the lines on the left and numbers add a nice graphic element to this shot.Β

Thanks, Mark! There's nothing better than wet asphalt at night with plenty of lights around and a crosswalk

The numbers are times in which you can cross the street in an diagonal fashion rather than just vert/horiz. During pedestrian rush hours (like just before/after school), many crossings will put the red light on auto traffic both ways for one cycle and allow diagonal crossings. Most times in Taiwan are written in a 24-hour format.

ha, very cool, I love the orderly fashion of that country.

It's not THAT orderly... the stereotype of the "Asian driver" is a stereotype for a reason and also includes pedestrians, shopping carts, etc... . Plus, it's only 1 of 2 nations in Asia with freedom of speech and assembly written into it's Constitution, so there is always a group of college kids on the streets protesting something or another. Most recent was the Sunflower Movement (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunflowe… , which effectively killed an economic agreement with the P.R.C.. Taiwanese (especially the young ones) hate being equated to China.

It's fun, especially during election years and with a camera

Hey, everything is designed to be orderly but people, no matter the culture, rarely are
