Severus Snape alone in Slytherin's Common Room (aka "Slytherin's Dungeon").
I wanted to do a portrait of one of my favourite characters from the Harry Potter saga - I wanted to keep it simple, but when I came across a painting of Slytherin's Common Room at HP Wikia (very different to the one on the films), I knew I had to try and paint something similar to that amazing room
So here it's my Snape, lost in thought with the sound the relaxing sound of the swishing waters of the Black Lake as his only company.

Your details, colors and lighting are beautiful. He is a great character. I felt so sorry for him as a young kid/teen. Such a miserable life and so many bad choices. You portray his lonely isolation very well.

They really became the comic relief that I think JK Rowling intended Peeves to be. Not having him in the movies at all was a shame, especially when I'm sure they had the money in their budget to do so, and forced them to subject other characters to his intended role. That's just a theory, however. Could be totally and blatantly wrong, lol.

Nah, I think you're right. I have nothing against the Twins being the comic relief in the films (they play that role in the books), it's just that they sound so silly and lame in the films... the film-Twins can't compare to their book counterparts.
Some of their dialogue in the films just makes me cringe

From what I remember of the video games, I got confused because I played a few of them first before I saw the movies, and Peeves was in them. Then I saw the movies and was like... where the bloody hell is Peeves!?
And yeah, I know what you mean about cringe-worthy dialogue. Though every time I heard Cho Chang speak I wanted to hit her. Her accent was irritating. The twins, though... yikes. They made a mess of them at times, but I still couldn't help but love them. The actors did their best with what they were given.

The details here are exquisite. His clothing (right down to his boots) are perfect. But it's all the other parts as well - the rug, the chair with it's studs, the colours, his expression. Simply beautiful.

Loved the shadowing and the green aura. The way the light falls made the bottom half of this catch my eye, especially the rug and his boots. I'm not a Potter fan, but I definitely appreciate great art.

This is a really good piece! The colors used are wonderful as is the lighting coming from the fire he's standing in front of. Although it's a profile shot of our dear Potions Masters, I really enjoy the costume design you've gone with. The embroidery and the attention to his shoes are great. Amazing work!
