I love the "Alice in Wonderland" vibe. It definitely pulls the piece together. The steampunk aspect is downplayed a bit, compared to the other steampunk Portal pieces I've seen - what I mean by that is: compared to pieces like this , which focus more on gears, brassy metals, grommets and the like to bring out a more "old-timey high-tech" look, you focus more on dated technologies like the phonograph, telephone, and pocketwatch to provide that same appeal. I like that it doesn't really follow the "mainstream" concept of what steampunk "looks like" (again, with the heavy reliance on gears and bronze toned metals to evoke the image) and goes with your own concept.Β

thank you! i really try to push the steampunk aesthetic and celebrate the elegance and charm of the victorian era as opposed to the usually grimy type of thing.
