A god damn beauty as always.Β
I gotta ask though, considering the main focus of this image is the suit itself, how much time and effort (relatively speaking) is put into the side parts such as the gun and the human face?
On a scale of 1-10 or something.Β

Well its a mighty fine gun, no effort gone to waste there.
I was just wondering because different concept artists tell me different things about prioritizing, some say the whole image should be of good quality, some say just focus on one thing.
What do you reckon?Β

I think it depends on what goals are youΒ pursuing:
If you want your focal points to really stand out and attract viewers eye the most - then push detalisation and conctrasts on them as far as possible and scrifice part that don't matter that much.
If you designing the WHOLE thing (character, vehicle, prop) then that whole thing needs to be finely refined, you surely can make some aspects on some parts of your design but with not that much of a difference from other parts, everything should be well-readable in the final result.
That's my opinion, but I hope it helps.
