Hydrangea are a favorite in the dutch gardens .. they bloom so beautifully and are so easy to manage.... the blue ones have always been my favorite.Related content

This variety of Hydrangea is absolutely beautiful, we have a different variety in our garden and can actually change their colour by adding aluminium sulphate to the soil. We call them Christmas flowers over here as they bloom around December through to late Feb.............................

The Hortensia is a nice plant and I tend to prefer the blue shaded flowers. As David correctly pointed out the colour is totally dependent on the soil pH (acid or alkaline)
You mentioned that they are easy to manage, that greatly depends on the climate. In Malta it is a challenge to keep them alive for longer than a season.

Ik heb een hortensia-struik met witte bloemen in de tuin en die verkleuren in de loop van de zomer van wit naa rose en later een beetje paars.

They're very interesting , too..depending on the acidity of the soil they are in..their color changes..mine are the most beautiful blue....some the neighbors have are more purple and pinkish...pretty

yes.. I have a special powder I use twice a year to get that deep powerful blue... this is just the beggining.. as you know it will turn a as you say an most beautiful blue.. how about sharing one of yours!

I'll have to look.. the storms we had kind of wrecked lots of the flowers around here..unfortunately... I've not had time to run around back there.. but I will see!..
