Yeah the guys above me got the translation down about as far as I can too. Is this in cyrrilic because it's east Germany? Pre Berlin wall and all that?

Yeah this barracks have been under the control of the russians after the split between east and west germany, so I think it is there for that reason (plus, krampnitz is near berlin so this might have been a strategic place to be for them)

I love French. It is such a beautiful language. I took Spanish for 6 years, French for 5, and German for 1. French was the easiest. I finished my last three years of high school taking French.

I think it dates back from the 50's - 60's (it was situated in former eastern germany, under the control of the USSR) but I can't really be sure...
"don't stand under the crane" or something like this, then? because I believe this place was used to load up heavy weighting objects into trucks or something

Yeah, that would make sense. If this was that era, and controlled by the USSR, then I am probably miss-reading that one letter. I think you are right about the loading. Makes sense.

Thanks, I am quite happy with this phrase (I wrote it, as a matter of fact). It is indeed nice to be multilingual, I whish I knew more languages (the only other I can speak is spanish, but I'm quite bad)
Anyway, that's nice to have helped me understand this sign, last time I had something in russian on one of my pictures, it was completely "random" (see here : [link] )
