Description
This was a sketch I came up with over the weekend, and then wanted to play with my copics, so I finished it off. I always imagined Merrill as rule-follower, which Tamlen and my F!Mahariel (Faylen) are not. Thus, whenever they get into trouble, Merrill feels she has to lecture them, which, as you can see, they do not enjoy.Related content

You know whats funny is My Mahariel was a Warlock and I remember making a comic where Merrill was chastising them and Fiona was secretly planning to freeze her and run away before she went to tell the Keeper hehe xD

She does! Which is why I originally thought of her as more strict without a sense of humor. She's very different in DA2.

That's how I saw Merrill in DA: O, as well. Am I the only one miffed that they completely twisted her personality for the second one?

I wasn't miffed, but I think a lot of people thought she had a stick up her ass in Origins and were grateful that it was more her not knowing how to deal with people.

It's not that I like either one of her personalities more than the other, but it just felt weird that they re-invented her for the second game.

I think parts of her were there in Origins (she does obsess about that mirror in the Dalish Camp), but she also had a different actress (like Anders) who had a different take on the character so that can also count for the discrepancy. Personally, I liked the fact that the elves in Origins had American/Canadian accents instead of European.

Yeah, I guess the different actor could account for a lot of it. I was confused when the elves all had Irish-type accents in the second game. I like Irish accents, it was just weird that they changed the actors for so many characters.

Aha! This is how I imagine my charecter, MEerrill, and Tamlen! Exept... my charecter looks much angrier and more annoyed and ready to punch Merrill...

Thanks! I have a soft spot for both of them, though I imagine my character and Merrill don't get along all the time. ^_^
