Description Well I've done a Superman re-design. One of the few costumes that really shouldn't ever be messed with...but I figured "what the hell".

Basically, there are two real ways of doing this:

Make the suit more detailed/layered/complicated, however you want to put it. The more common approach I've seen. Usually making him more futuristic. OR, more simplified, which is what I've done. I went about this under the assumption, he's the same person in the current time line ect. If it were the future, I might do it differently.

If he did change his suit, he would most likely simplify it, rather than add unnecessary detail or embellishment. He's not into his appearance, and a more modest look is how he tends to roll. I've tried to make it as practical as possible.

The colors stay mostly the same. You simply cannot alter the classic colors, and adding two tones just seems silly to me. I did make the yellow more metallic though. First thing you notice, I dropped the trunks *ahem*, so to speak. If I am going to simplify, that means losing unneeded layers. Sorry. I did keep a modified belt, mostly just to break up the blue. Dropped the boots too. He doesn't need them for protection and it would be easier for him this way to wear his Clark footwear. I also like the way you eye stays up at his chest where all the red is. I took the "extra red" and used it too tie the symbol into the cape. Other than that, I didn't alter the symbol at all. I laugh at these fools who try to make the symbol cooler. Mwah ha ha! It's world renowned! I always loved the "drooped look" of the cape off his back. I kept it small too. The cape does nothing, so it needn't be large. It's only requirement, is that it fit under the Clark gear. It would be of the lightest material as well. It attached at the shoulder, no longer tucked in anywhere. I removed the yellow shield and instead enlarged the symbol to the point it encompasses the entire cape. If you were to spread the cape out, you'd see the entire thing. You might not even notice it at first glance. Subtle, yet epic. I tried to keep the collar pretty low, but I really don't like seeing his clavicles. I also laugh at the high collars others have given him. How does Clark wear a t-shirt with those things sticking up? Lastly, I've shortened his sleeves. It helps him hide the suit under his Clark clothes (though I realize he could just push up his sleeves). More importantly, it makes the whole suit look less constricting and feeds into the "farmboy" history. It's like he has his "sleeves rolled up" 24/7, ready to get the job done at moments notice. I took the design from the top of his boots and applied it to the sleeves, so as to keep some memory of them.
