After processing this in Black and white, I just loved the "lunar" look.

Indeed... it's quite beautiful, the glow in the sand grains, the soft grooves

Yes... they have all those special effects for guts and blood, but they don't really scare us with an original story anymore... we have seen them all. Now is just remakes and sequels, bleh!! This guy is more scary

I did see "the woman in black" recently which had some scary moments.
I think it's an age thing, harder to scare us as we get older

Perhaps it is... you're right "the woman in black" is interesting, however the story wasn't new for me already knew it, from a book with the same title and a movie I saw on Tv some years back think is was "the swamp mystery" I'm not sure, they had made the story for now-days. A good plot, well done, but not scary!! Perhaps we need a monster to bit our old butts to be scared!
