Description Braun Boxing's inaugural card in Karlsruhe, Germany is about to have its first official event ... the pre-fight weighin.  All four boxers and their trainers are on stage in the weighin hall where the scene is dominated by a giant portrait of boxing superstar Regina Halmich, who fought many of her best fights here in Karlsruhe between 1994 and 2007.

Promoter Ulrike Braun looks sharp in a yellow leather skirt and a red top that shows off the former kickboxer's muscular physique.  The great Regina Halmich herself waits to observe the weighins wearing a flattering red dress over black tights.  A WBC official stands at a floor microphone, ready to call the fighters to the weigh scale.   The WBC Silver belt is on display, on the side table under Regina's portrait.

WHO'S THERE?

From the left:  Stephanie Ward's trainer Cindy (foreground, back to the camera), Yoojung Lim who is the trainer for reignig  Celtic champ Vera Stone (at rear by the curtain), WBC official, Stephanie Ward (at back), Regina Halmich, the KO Kitten (at back), promoter Ulrike Braun, former WBC Silver champ Amber Rose, then her trainer and Kelly Carlson (foreground, backs to camera).

TO BE CONTINUED ...

Next:

Technical detail:  using ten high-res and one low-res figure in one DAZ render almost blew my computer's mind so I made it in two parts that I spliced together.  The 3-d model of Regina Halmich was kindly loaned to me by its creator, alesiaboxing . The painting of Regina Halmich is from my gallery (bx2000b.deviantart.com/gallery… )

Stephanie Ward and her trainer Cindy are the OC's of stephanieboxer
Vera Stone is the OC of VeraStone
Yoojung Lim is the OC of ji-gwang
Amber Rose and her trainer are the OC's of circulo90
The KO Kitten and her trainer Kelly Carlson are mine

Looking very good. I guess Stephanie is still sitting at the bar for breakfast?

I didn´t see her, and I didn´t read her.

Now, at second glance I see her in the back at the curtain beside Vera, and I read the name in the description. Haha!

But I could also have her imagined at the bar, hehehe...

It is unlike her to be quiet at the back but you will see more of her soon ...

We may see as much as we ever will of her at once at this weighin ... she's stripped down to her smallest shorts for it!

Do I count 11 characters in one scene?  I think my computer might explode if I try rendering a scene with that many characters!

Cool scene - I can tell a lot of work went into it .

I've done 11 before, too. Pose and save as subsets. Load all of them for final rendering. It gets slow, but it works

bx2000b In reply to alesiaboxing [2018-01-14 15:29:00 +0000 UTC]

I use subsets all the time.  You still have to do all the work of detailed posing and of making the poses interact realistically but changes in the individual characters go much faster with them, obviously.  The big computer load is still in the final render.  I hit hard limits where the render would not run at all in IRay if I added another character. So this full scene stitches two partial renders together.  Even saving good poses there is no short cut for much of the composition work which must go up almost as the square of the number of characters.. You can reduce the computing time provided the renders can start.  You also have to be careful about shadow casting when the scene is a bright room.  Yes subsets help but these bright scenes with many characters still take a lot of both personal and compute time even making full use of subsets to get started.

Do you ever look at resources used and how much a render gobbles up?

For example, this is what I see in my Activity Monitor:

Yes, 10 characters are full resolution G2F, one (WBC guy) is a lower-res one and there are no very fancy textures.
I wanted to "set the stage" with a wide view and everyone in it but this is very close to the limit I can do with my computer!
