Hi, thank you for the comment The real luck was to be close enough to take this photo, cheetahs are not hard to find during the safari.

Aye but I'll bet they don't stay still for long periods, fantastic shot!

Oh gorgeous! We only saw one cheetah and it was wayy off in the distance, you needed binoculars to see it. My lens just couldn't cope with that kind of distance just means that I'll have to go back!!
Callithrix In reply to ERB20 [2010-03-31 09:43:01 +0000 UTC]
I was in Kenya and I saw lots of cheetahs in Masai Mara and Tsavo, I was very lucky A good tele is mandatory for safari, many times the animals are too distant.I'll submit new cheetah deviations today.

I bought myself a 300 for the safari I went on, I would have bought myself the 400 but as a student I just couldn't afford or justify it maybe sometime in the future... I look forward to those, I love cheetahs We were in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, there don't seem to be too many around those parts! My mum went back to Africa in October and that time went to the Maasai Mara and saw Shakira and some of the others off Big Cat Diary, I was rather jealous!
Callithrix In reply to ERB20 [2010-03-31 10:43:39 +0000 UTC]
the 300 is enough, preferably stabilized What kind of camera do you use? I hope to come back soon in Africa, next time in Tanzania
ERB20 In reply to Callithrix [2010-03-31 10:46:50 +0000 UTC]
I didn't have too many problems with it which was great although I saved up to buy the professional lens I have a Sony a100 but I'm looking to up-grade (when I get the money!)I really enjoyed Tanzania, but I want to go to Kenya now
