I like the contour lines, they make for a unique style. They remind me of the stained glass scenes in old cathedrals. Nice effect.

I love how intense her eyes are, they seem to pierce the very screen! The detail on the handle of the blade is very original and I love the little trickle of blood coming down her chin, an interesting little addition- great portrait!

Omg, so glad you like it! I debated on what color to paint the handle in (I even tried a blue variation), but in the end red seemed to be more fitting of the whole vampire theme haha. And it goes well with the blood so that's a plus as well

The more detailed you get with those faces, the more I begin to notice how many different techniques you use for different parts of the body and different details. I'd be curious to see how you put together the lighting on the shoulders and blend it into the chest. I think I see how it's done, but I'm not 100% sure. The fact that you can seamlessly combine them, though, speaks so much to your artistic ability!

your comments are always so detailed and observant, thank you for all the encouragement! I have to admit I'm always trying new brushes and different styles of blending, and it's a lot more evident here because I got a bit carried away haha. Regarding the lighting, I tend to use different color variations on color dodge, soft light and different type of layer setting for starters; I haven't perfected my approach to lighting at all, but I'm finding it easier with each piece, so I think it's all about keeping at it!
