Description Something that popped into my head earlier: what does your favorite OC/alter ego/mascot/fursona/persona smell like?

Machete here would smell like frankincense, chrism, musty books and old stone churches. And blood, likely, since he seems to be covered with it more often than not.

Staedtler pigment liner, graphite and Gimp.

Excuse me, i'm just curious, is the title inspired by Lacuna Coil's song "Heaven's a Lie"?

From two different stories: Adrian, a mage, smells like almond and lightning. Caelan, a northern prince, smells like feathers and leather and snow.

Oh, what an interesting question! I'm a very smell-sensitive person, so it's nice to imagine how my characters smell!
I guess Kashmir and Al-Azhar would smell quite similar: warm, dusty, earthy (from the golden paint they both wear); Kashmir would smell a bit more "manly", because he's got more testosterone; Al-Azhar would have a light metal-smell from his jewellery.

I like how Machete smells his hand here - reminds me of me, when I'm in a Douglas shop, testing perfume, love that!
And: German in the background!

That's pretty much what I imagined for him.
For mine, it'd be fir trees, carrion, leaf mould, smoke, and a bit of dark coffee and blood.

For some reason, the smell of feathers has always been on my mind as one of those smells that are one of a kind and very hard to describe - kind of dusty and sour, almost chemical. Adam, my bird and human hybrid, would smell of feathers and pinewood.

This is a great idea for Machete! And from what I've managed to learn about him I can easily imagining him having a smell like that, awesome to see some more of him again!

Β I wish I could draw bonier hands you know. I tend to use my own hands as reference, and I have hands of a ten year old girl.

I have the same problem when it comes to drawing hands too. I cannot figure out how to draw those fingers. Either they are too long or too short.

Similar problem here. My hands are incredibly chubby with short fingers, as if my DNA tossed the tutorial "how to make a proper hand" out of the window. Even when I manage to draw them fairly well, the drawing still looks off mainly because of the reference material.Β
The struggle is real.Β

I love your art so much! I've always hoped that you would reply to me because I've wanted to tell you how much of an inspiration you are to me! Also, how exactly did you get so good at your anatomy? I try to draw like you but it's so difficult! ^w^ <3

Ah, that's so nice, thank you! I'm glad you find my work inspiring.
This is such an unhelpful answer, but I guess practicing is the only way to improve your art. Life drawing helps tremendously when you're trying to learn anatomy. I like to watch my subjects (in my case, dogs) in motion and try to figure out how different "layers" of the body (bones, muscles, fat, skin, fur) work together and impact each other.

Thank you so much for replying! I still have quite a few questions to ask you but I know you're busy and I don't want to be a bother.Β Β
