I find it kinda overrated, haha. This is like the only photo I really like from it. It is still a lovely place, just a bit too busy for my liking.

Beautiful shot. I really like all the natural elements involved... from the sky, to the mountains, to the trees, and then the water.

I wish the trees were lit a little better, but I know more exposure would wash out the mountain... and it looks great.

I really like the ripples in the water and the trail the duck is leaving. It adds a lot of life and motion to the shot.

canuckgurl22 In reply to rmlawrence [2007-04-22 20:50:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. Yeah, that is precisely the problem I had with the exposure on the trees. Sometimes I wish the camera could capture things exactly as we see them.

I love how it's divided nicely, but it also blends, and the reflection of baker in the rippling water is gorgeous along with the colour of the mountain. What lake gives that view?

FluffyBlueAlien626 [2006-12-23 10:30:48 +0000 UTC]

Nicely done. I think the duck and beaver dam really add something to the shot. I don't find the sky overexposed at all, but the middle of the scene is a tad on the dark side. I think it just adds a mysterious feel to it, though.

Thank you. Yeah, the middle does bother me quite a bit. At least it adds something I guess.

Hi, critique monster here

Wow what a beautiful shot! you've captured something really amazing here, I almost feel like i'm there myself... lovely composition and the duck makes it that much more interesting. However I do think the sky's a bit overexposed and the scenary underexposed, which is a common problem with landscape shots. A way around this is taking two shots: one with higher exposure to get the details of the foreground, another with much lower exposure to capture the background (mountain) and the sky, then use photoshop to blend the two desired part together. I think the result will be stunning! try it next time

canuckgurl22 In reply to CatchMe-22 [2006-10-16 04:02:24 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for the critique. Can I do that if I only have photoshop elements? I have heard to create an HDR image a person needs the full photoshop version or is there a way to do it on elements?
