Description I kind of forgot about this one. I hate painting, but I figured I could give it a try if I only had to use one color. The background is a map doodle I did with felt-tipped pens and ink a few years ago. Always reminded me of Hyrule anyway, so it seemed appropriate. Done sometime in the fall of 2012. I think.

Amazingness!  I love the effect of just white on that dark background.  xD

Thanks! Secretly, it's 'cause I just suck at painting, and using only one color was easier.

Haha sometimes awesomeness is discovered by accident.
I have a sister who's about 9 years older than me, and she was REALLY good at realism, so naturally I tried realism as well.  It didn't work so well for me, but I later found out that stylized art is my thing.

It's always fun to try new styles, but sometimes you just gotta develop what works for you and what you enjoy the most! I would love to be good at digital drawing and painting, but the reality is, I like focusing my free time and attention on traditional art so much that I'll probably never really develop skills for digital.

Haha I wish I could combine the advantages of both, the color and effects of digital and the precision of traditional.

Yes, and the advantage of the edit undo function!

Haha YES, I once got some sticky garbage on my eraser when I was doing a very detailed drawing, thought I wiped ALL of it off before using it to erase a TINY black spot, and ended up making a giant black smear that I couldn't get out of the paper.  Gah, I was so mad!

Ugh, that happens to me way more often than I'd like! Tiny colored pencil shavings get stuck in it.

Oh yeah, the problems of real paper.
Heh in my sketchbook I pretty much only use one side of the paper because the graphite from one thing will rub off onto the paper next to it, and it makes me sad I can only use about half the paper space in the book.

I hear that! I tend not to use pencil in sketchbook for that very reason.

Heh I know that after I draw over pencil with colored pencils I can't erase the graphite anymore, I need to figure out if it also prevents stuff from rubbing off.  If it does, I can use more of my paper.  xD

Dah, I know exactly what you mean!! I went on a many-year quest to find a pen that drew like a pencil, but wouldn't erase. I finally found it in the copic multi-liners, grey, and very fine-tipped. But, it's still hard to sketch in pencil, then go over it all with colored pencil and not make a huge mess of everything!

Oh yeah, I always get SO paranoid I'm going to screw up my drawing if I color it in instead of leaving it as lineart.
